Black TikTok creators, one of the platform&#8217;s l<a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/us\/articles\/black-twitter-snl-appropriation\/\">argest vehicles for trendsetting entertainment<\/a>, have been abstaining from innovating any new dance moves to highlight how their work is commodified without comparable credit. The process was able to approved via labanotation, a method that documents dance steps with symbols in patterns. Alongside Wilson, the following innovators were granted the monumental honor: Young Deji, creator of &#8220;The Woah&#8221; dance; Fullout Cortland, the choreography of Doja Cat\u2019s \u201cSay So\u201d performance at the 2020 Billboard Music Awards; Nae Nae Twins, creator of the dance to <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/us\/articles\/megan-thee-stallion-leyna-bloom-and-naomi-osaka-grace-the-cover-of-sports-illustrated-swimsuit\/\">Megan Thee Stallion<\/a>\u2019s &#8220;Savage&#8221; remix featuring Beyonc\u00e9; Chloe Arnold, \u201cSalute A Legend\u201d choreography for Syncopated Ladies; Mya Johnson and Chris Cotter, creator of the \u201cUp\u201d dance to Cardi B\u2019s song of the same name.<\/p>\n<p>Whether rhythmically inclined or not, the dreary isolation of 2020 cooped us all indoors and quite <em>literally<\/em> left to our own devices. \u00a0When Megan Thee Stallion&#8217;s smash hit &#8220;Savage&#8221; released in March, Wilson took to the app and release her own gyrating combo to the track. In an interview with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cosmopolitan.com\/lifestyle\/a33471157\/keara-wilson-tiktok-savage-dance-creator\/\"class=\"js-amazon-subtag-modified\"  target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Cosmopolitan<\/a>, Wilson revealed that it took her just one hour to create the choreo and from there, she became an overnight success. Moreover, BIPOC creators specifically have been decrying the popularity of other creators \u2014 like Charlie D&#8217;Amelio and <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/us\/articles\/addison-raes-ufc-correspondent-gig-comes-to-a-swift-end\/\">Addison Rae<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 who have amassed millions of followers from performing dances choreographed by Black creators.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":29094,"featured_media":31170,"template":"","format":"standard","categories":[38,16],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO Premium plugin v18.5 (Yoast SEO v20.4) -
