Evan Mock<\/a> might be becoming a household name thanks to his role in the recent Gossip Girl<\/em><\/a> reboot, but it was actually his hair (and a viral Frank Ocean<\/a> video) that sent his career on such a stratospheric trajectory. The singer posted a video of Mock skateboarding with his signature pink hair color, which matched Ocean’s at the time.<\/p>\n

“It was the day I colored it, actually,” Mock told Mr. Porter<\/em><\/a> in a recent interview, explaining that the color was the result of a lost bet with friends. “[I dyed it] pink just hours before.”<\/p>\n

It’s that striking hue that catapulted Mock into the fashion realm as a model and now actor, two impressive additions to his already-stellar career as a skateboarder. So perhaps it shouldn’t be a surprise then that the 24-year-old actually has excellent advice when it comes to beauty and feeling confident.<\/p>\n

In a new interview<\/a> Mock discussed wearing makeup on the Gossip Girl<\/em> set, saying that while he doesn’t put on makeup “when I go out to dinner or leave the house”, he does believe that “absolutely” every gender should be able to enjoy it.<\/p>\n

He also shared his skincare routine, which he dials up particularly when his work takes him to new locations. “Yes, I exfoliate and moisturize,” he revealed. “My skin tends to get dry in colder places. When I was living in Hawaii, I didn\u2019t have to do much because the air is so damp there. I didn\u2019t need to do anything, honestly, using moisturizer there would make my skin too oily. I definitely take care of my skin a lot more when I\u2019m in colder places.”<\/p>\n
