For Emily Ratajkowski, a young and famous mom, the negative comments pertaining to the way she holds her baby are unfathomably relentless.<\/p>\n<p>A picture uploaded to the model\u2019s Instagram account on June 21 \u2013 a painting of Ratajkowski cradling her baby Sylvester Appollo alongside her husband Sebastian Bear-McClard \u2013 garnered a lot of attention, even though she was holding little Sly the \u201ccorrect\u201d way by societal standards.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHolding the baby different to normal in that painting\u201d, wrote one user.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFinally a picture where you\u2019re holding the child properly. We talk about how we have to \u2018do better\u2019 as a culture. Meanwhile, my comments are filled with awful remarks about how I don\u2019t deserve to be a mom. Shame on you all,\u201d Ratajkowski wrote in a now expired Instagram Story.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span class=\"quotation-style\">\u201cI don\u2019t care if you hate me or hate celebrity (or just hate women) but it\u2019s incredibly scary to become a parent, and no one deserves to be told by strangers that they\u2019re a shi**y mother.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>She\u2019s exactly right. How can one rule apply to Spears, and another to Ratajkowski?<\/p>\n<p>What is going through somebody\u2019s mind when they consciously type vile comments to strangers? Hiding behind a keyboard doesn\u2019t hide your comment \u2013 and the weight of your words can do great damage to new mothers who perhaps aren\u2019t as mentally strong as Ratajkowski appears. (We use the word &#8216;appears&#8217; because who actually knows the mental toll this has taken on this woman.)<\/p>\n<p>From epidurals to bottle feeding, everyone has an opinion. The decision to share that on a public platform &#8211; and the tone in which one does so &#8211; needs to be reconsidered.
