I always loved the idea of a tinted moisturizer<\/a> \u2013 creamy, lightweight coverage that was breathable and didn’t suffocate the skin. But in reality, when I’d finally try one, my expectations were met with an unwelcome reality. The coverage was rarely sufficient for my acne-prone skin and I often ended up oily after a few hours \u2013 hardly the effortless look I’d imagined.<\/p>\n

But that was a few years ago, and formulas have since evolved. We now have options with coverage to suit different skin types, rather than just the extremely sheer skin tints that once dominated the market. Now I feel like I can get my light wash of color and<\/em> coverage from the same tube (not sunscreen though \u2013 make sure you always apply a dedicated SPF rather than relying on your base product).<\/p>\n

I’ve also grown more accustomed to my own skin after a year spent bare-faced at home, so these tinted moisturizers offer me the perfect mid-way point between moisturizer and foundation. And now, after a solid amount of research, I’ve whittled my favorites down to a few trusty formulas.<\/p>\n

This is a recent one I’ve tried and I was pleasantly surprised by how light it was. It’s quite sheer, so it’s one for those days you’re after less coverage, but it softly blurs the skin for a flattering radiance.<\/p>\n

This isn’t the first time I’ve waxed lyrical about this Chanel winner, and it likely won’t be the last. The formula is lovely and thin, making it perfect for warm days, and it leaves the most beautiful glow on the skin without any tell-tale caking in dry patches<\/p>\n

I first tried this tinted moisturizer 5 years ago, and it still holds up as one of the better ones. This was the tinted moisturizer that really made me fall in love with tinted moisturizers. The coverage is higher than most, but you wouldn’t know it because the effects are subtle. A small amount leaves my skin looking clear and healthy without the heaviness of foundation.<\/p>\n
