Meghan Markle<\/a> and Prince Harry<\/a>\u2019s Archewell Productions is making good on their promise to bring family programing that \u201cinforms, elevates and inspires\u201d to Netflix<\/a>. The Duchess\u2019s latest project? Developing an animated series about a 12-year-old girl who finds inspiration in the stories of influential women from history.<\/p>\n

\u201cLike many girls her age, our heroine Pearl is on a journey of self-discovery as she tries to overcome life\u2019s daily challenges,\u201d said Markle said in a statement. \u201cI\u2019m thrilled that Archewell Productions, partnered with the powerhouse platform of Netflix, and these incredible producers, will together bring you this new animated series, which celebrates extraordinary women throughout history. David Furnish and I have been eager to bring this special series to light, and I am delighted we are able to announce it today.\u201d<\/p>\n

The show, tentatively titled Pearl<\/em>, has a powerhouse team behind it. Alongside Meghan, who will serve as executive producer, are Furnish (Mr. Elton John<\/a> and one of the producers behind 2011\u2019s Gnomeo & Juliet<\/em>), Carolyn Soper (Sherlock Gnomes<\/em>, Tangled<\/em>), and Emmy-winning filmmakers Liz Garbus (I\u2019ll Be Gone in the Dark<\/em>, What Happened, Miss Simone?<\/em>), and Dan Cogan (Icarus<\/em>, The Apollo<\/em>).<\/p>\n
