The Lyst Index Q2 report is finally out and it looks like Air Force 1’s and YEEZY slides are topping the charts for hottest products. I mean, this isn’t entirely a surprise seeing that when I take a scroll through TikTok or Instagram I see just about everyone wearing these stylish footwear options.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

However, what we do find interesting is the shift between the rise and decline of product search results. We couldn’t help but take note that both of the hottest products are genderless compared to previous quarters, a coincidence? I think not. The Lyst Index reports searches including \u201cagender fashion\u201d have increased by 46%. The men’s list fills out with Thom Browne\u2019s pleated skirt and Fendi\u2019s Baguette bag<\/a> also appearing as some of the hottest men\u2019s products of the quarter\u2014revealing the rise of gender-fluid fashion among contemporary shoppers.<\/span><\/p>\n

Shopper’s interests are also shifting as vaccinations are increasing and travel once again becomes a thing. “The pandemic is far from over, but consumers were in a very different mindset in the second quarter compared to the same period in 2020,” the Lyst Index opens with. “Searches for dresses increased 371%,\u00a0<\/span>sunglasses<\/span>\u00a0198% and beachwear 192%. In key markets, the roll-out of vaccinations and lifting of lockdown saw demand increase for dressier styles, as well as items associated with travel and leisure.” in simpler terms, we’re all ready for a much-needed vacation.<\/span><\/p>\n

As for the brand rankings, consumer interests haven\u2019t changed much since this time last year. Gucci takes first place for the third quarter in a row, which we can assume is in thanks to its recent Balenciaga crossover<\/a>. Dior bumped up to second place from third place last quarter, A spot well deserved following its stunning Cruise 2022<\/a> collection in Athens. Nike comes in at third with its ongoing partnership with tennis star Naomi Osaka\u2014recently launching a capsule collection of athleisure. Luxury houses Louis Vuitton and Prada round out the top five hottest brands list.<\/span><\/p>\n
