You might\u2019ve seen her on Drake\u2019s Instagram in some OVO gear, or in an Off White campaign.\u00a0Gonnie\u2019s love for both music and fashion has resulted in her merging the two; DJing exclusive events & collaborating with high-profile brands such as Fendi, OVO, Canada Goose, Jordan Brand, Vogue + more.\u00a0Gonnie continues to solidify herself in the industry proving to be a force to be reckoned with & shows no signs of slowing down.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

What role does music play in your life?\u2028<\/b><\/p>\n

Music plays the largest role of any art form in my life. It’s something I can always depend on. It gives me faith.<\/p>\n

What is your first music memory?<\/b><\/p>\n

I\u2019m sure I knew music before this, but one of my youngest memories is dancing to I Love Rock & Roll by Joan Jett,<\/a>\u00a0and These Boots Were Made for Walking by Nancy Sinatra<\/a> with my aunt, she knew the words, I didn\u2019t but I became obsessed with these songs later on.<\/p>\n

What is your absolute favorite song?\u2028<\/b><\/p>\n

This has always been the hardest question personally, but an all time favorite is Saturday Love by Cherrelle and Alexander O\u2019Neal<\/a>.<\/p>\n

What is the inspiration behind the playlist you created? Why did you choose these songs?<\/b><\/p>\n

I just bought my first pair of turntables and I want to teach myself to DJ on vinyl. I think in doing this I can translate much more confidence and respect to the craft. I chose these songs because lately I\u2019ve been obsessed with disco and funk. I think that era is insane, these songs can be emotional, sexual, they were also literally songs gangsters were listening to. Amazing reach.<\/p>\n

When would you listen to a playlist like the one you created?<\/b><\/p>\n

Any time of the day. It\u2019s just such feel good music. It\u2019s great to wake up to, great in the car with the windows down, it\u2019s great before, during and after the party.<\/p>\n
