It’s been an intense few weeks for Britney Spear<\/a>s. Following the singer’s bombshell testimony last week, in which she called the conservatorship she’s been under since 2008 “abusive”, Spears’ longtime <\/span>manager Larry Rudolph has resigned after 25 years of working with her.<\/span><\/p>\n

Per <\/span>Deadline<\/span><\/a><\/em>,<\/em> Rudolph wrote a resignation letter to Spears\u2019 father, Jamie Spears, and attorney, Jodi Montgomery, co-executor of the estate of Spears, addressing her conservatorship in the process.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt has been over 2 1\/2 years since Britney and I last communicated, at which time she informed me she wanted to take an indefinite work hiatus,\u201d Rudolph wrote. \u201cEarlier today, I became aware that Britney had been voicing her intention to officially retire.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Rudolph went on to explain that he had not \u201cbeen a part of the conservatorship\u201d that Spears has been under since 2008, so he was \u201cnot privy to many of these details.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAs you know, I have never been a part of the conservatorship nor its operations,” his letter reads. \u201cI was originally hired at Britney\u2019s request to help manage and assist her with her career. And as her manager, I believe it is in Britney\u2019s best interest for me to resign from her team as my professional services are no longer needed.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Rudolph acknowledged he is \u201cincredibly proud of what we accomplished over our 25 years together,\u201d and that he wishes Britney \u201call the health and happiness in the world.\u201d \u201cI\u2019ll be there for her if she ever needs me again, just as I always have been,\u201d he concluded.<\/span><\/p>\n

Rudolph\u2019s resignation is the latest development in Spears\u2019 high-profile case, which <\/span>last week saw Bessemer Trust<\/span>, the company appointed to co-manage the singer\u2019s assets along with Jamie Spears, ask the court to resign from the conservatorship.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Following Spears\u2019 testimony, many celebrities have spoken out in support of the singer, including her ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake and ex-husband Kevin Federline<\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n

Today, Courtney Love, who has been a vocal supporter of Spears\u2014and who claimed in a New Yorker<\/em> story that Lou Taylor, a business manager who got close to Jamie Spears shortly before the conservatorship, tried to take control of her family\u2019s estate\u2014covered Spears\u2019 famous song Lucky.\u00a0<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n
