The pair were the first to get a portmanteau &#8211; Bennifer- after they fell in love in 2002 and went on to enjoy two years together before it all fell apart over media pressure.<\/p>\n<p>However, now older and wiser, Jen and Ben are giving things another shot, and although their whirlwind 2021 romance has only been going for approximately three months, it seems things are getting serious.<br \/>\nSo here&#8217;s everything we know about their history, and here&#8217;s to not making the same mistakes twice\u2026<\/p>\n<p><strong>Early 2002:<\/strong><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_28678\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-28678\" style=\"width: 702px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-28678\" src=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2021\/07\/bennifer-gigli.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"702\" height=\"1024\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-28678\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Credit: Getty<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Jen and Ben are thought to have met on the set of the much-panned movie <em>Gigli<\/em>, in which they were both starring. Ben was single but Jen was married to second husband Cris Judd at the time.<\/p>\n<p><strong>July 2020:<\/strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/articles\/ben-affleck-jennifer-lopez-2002-watch\/\">Their romance was out of the bag<\/a> when the two were pictured kissing at Jen&#8217;s 32nd birthday party, marking their first PDA. Jen had split from Cris, but two days later she filed for divorce.<\/p>\n<p><strong>November 2020:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Jennifer Lopez - Jenny from the Block (Official Video)\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/dly6p4Fu5TE?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>J-Lo released the music video for J<em>enny From The Block<\/em> &#8211; and surprise surprise, it starred Ben. They walked in the door and &#8220;it\u2019s just a blanket, a quilt of rose petals, all over the whole entire house,&#8221; Jen told Diane Sawyer in a now infamous interview.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;So many candles, and vases, bouquets. And my song <em>Glad<\/em> was playing. I walk in, and I was just overwhelmed. When we found ourselves seriously contemplating hiring three separate \u201cdecoy brides\u201d at three different locations, we realized that something was awry. We began to feel that the spirit of what should have been the happiest day of our lives could be compromised. We felt what should have been a joyful and sacred day could be spoiled for us, our families, and our friends.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>January 2004:<\/strong><br \/>\nFour months after postponing the wedding, Jen&#8217;s reps confirmed they had ended their romance. \u201cI am confirming the reports that Jennifer Lopez has ended her engagement to Ben Affleck. <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/articles\/jennifer-lopez-ben-affleck-moving\/\">the singer is based in the Florida city and her teenage twins both attend school there.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>However, it wasn&#8217;t long before <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/us\/articles\/jlo-ben-affleck-kissing-in-miami\/\">Ben was spotted at Jennifer&#8217;s home<\/a>, with the pair pictured leaving the private residence together.<\/p>\n<p><strong>June 2021:<\/strong><br \/>\nBy June, sightings were coming regularly from Los Angeles, with <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/articles\/jennifer-lopez-ben-affleck-relationship-future\/\">the pair pictured arm in arm<\/a> at the Pendry West Hollywood; after enjoying dinner Ben was spotted driving her home. And <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/us\/articles\/jennifer-lopez-ben-affleck-public-make-out-session\/\">two weeks later on 13 June, the relationship was confirmed<\/a><\/strong> when the two were pictured kissing at Nobu Malibu, during a party for Jennifer&#8217;s sister&#8217;s birthday.<\/p>\n<p>The two locked lips throughout the evening, and pictures also showed Jen&#8217;s twins talking to Ben. On 25 June,<a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/articles\/jennifer-lopez-ben-affleck-date-night\/\"> they had a private dinner in a private room<\/a> at Avra Beverly Hills Estiatorio.<\/p>\n<p><strong>July 2021:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Bennifer spent the Fourth of July weekend together with their families. The two were pictured on 2 July at Universal Studios with Max and Emme, and Ben&#8217;s nine-year-old son Samuel. &#8220;Her kids really like Ben and think he&#8217;s funny and fun to be around,&#8221; a source close to J.Lo later told E! News. &#8220;He&#8217;s totally won the family over with his charm.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>His kids spent 4 July with their mom, however, with <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/articles\/ben-affleck-jennifer-lopez-hamptons\/\">Ben, Jen and her kids flying to the Hamptons<\/a>, where the two were pictured wandering arm in arm around the town of Long Island.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/us\/articles\/jennifer-lopez-responds-ben-affleck\/\">Zane Lowe for Apple Music that same weekend<\/a>, Jennifer finally explained how happy she was, acknowleding that she wants &#8220;everybody to know that it\u2019s the best time&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m super happy,\u201d she said. \u201cI know people are always wondering. How are you? What\u2019s going on? Are you okay? This is it. I\u2019ve never been better. And I want my people who care about me, because I care about them so much, to know that I\u2019ve really gotten to a place in my life where I\u2019m great on my own. And I think once you get to that place, then amazing things happen to you that you never imagine in your life happening again. And so that is where I\u2019m at. And I love all the love that\u2019s coming my way right now and all of the, the good wishes. And I just want everybody to know that it\u2019s the best time.
