Gucci’s archival bags have undoubtedly been making a comeback recently, and we’ve been taking note. Just last year the Italian fashion house revived its eponymous Jackie 1961<\/a> bag, beloved by no other than Jackie Kennedy herself. Now five days following what would have been Princess Diana’s 60th birthday<\/a>, Gucci brings back her favorite bamboo handle tote.<\/p>\n

Before the street style was even coined a term, Princess Diana<\/a> made headlines in the early \u201990s for her viral oh-so tenniscore look<\/a> and her bamboo handled tote. The chic minimal bag which first launched in 1991 is now back with a few updates thanks to creative director Alessandro Michele. The current iteration is distinguished by removable, neon leather belts\u2014a nod to the functional bands that once came with the original bag to maintain the shape of the handles\u2014the latest expression of the creative director\u2019s contemporary approach to archival elements.<\/p>\n

The new rendition comes in three sizes (mini, small, and medium) and seven different bright, classic, and elegant colorways with the addition of some intriguing, unusual hues. Each Gucci Diana bag is paired with three matching colored belts in either fluorescent yellow, pink, or orange. A refreshing color palette already approved by the new generation of style icons including Jodie Turner-Smith and Elle Fanning. Monogramming options will also be possible, with the addition of letters and stars on the leather belts in metallic film colors.<\/p>\n
