According to an investigative report in <\/span>The New Yorker<\/span><\/i><\/a> published over the weekend, Britney Spears called 911 the night before she appeared in court to testify against her conservatorship last week<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

According to the expos\u00e9 by Ronan Farrow\u2014one of the journalists who broke the initial Harvey Weinstein story\u2014and Jia Tolentino, a person close to Spears and to law enforcement in Ventura County California (where she currently lives) confirmed the singer called the police to report herself as a victim of conservatorship abuse. <\/span><\/p>\n

People<\/span><\/i><\/a> later confirmed the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department was called that day and that police records show officials arrived at her home, per her \u201crequest\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

Shortly after Spears made the call, <\/span>The New Yorker <\/span><\/i>reports members of her team began \u201cfrantically\u201d texting one another, as \u201cthey were worried about what Spears might say the next day, and they discussed how to prepare in the event that she went rogue.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking at a court hearing last week, Spears said that for 13 years she has been under what she describes as an <\/span>\u201cabusive\u201d<\/span> conservatorship. \u201cIt is my wish and dream for all of this to end. I want my life back,\u201d Spears told Judge Brenda Penny. \u201cI truly believe this conservatorship is abusive \u2026 I want to end the conservatorship without being evaluated. I want to petition to end the conservatorship.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Among other bombshell revelations, Spears alleged her team hasn’t allowed her to marry or to have another baby. \u201cI have an IUD in my body right now that won\u2019t let me have a baby and my conservators won\u2019t let me go to the doctor to take it out,\u201d Spears said. \u201cI wanna be able to get married and have a baby.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s embarrassing and demoralizing what I\u2019ve been through, and that\u2019s the main reason I didn\u2019t say it openly,\u201d she continued. \u201cI didn\u2019t think anybody would believe me.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to end the conservatorship without being evaluated. I want to petition to end the conservatorship.\u201d<\/p>\n

Prior to Spears’ court hearing, sealed court documents were brought to light<\/a> which revealed the singer had been showing \u201cserious opposition\u201d against the conservatorship for many years.<\/p>\n

On Friday, court documents obtained by <\/span>E! News<\/span><\/a><\/em> showed a Los Angeles Superior Court judge had denied a month-old request by Spears\u2019 attorney, Samuel Ingham III, to have Jamie Spears dropped as her sole conservator. <\/span>The court decision wasn’t made in direct response to <\/span>Spears\u2019 testimony last week, <\/span>but rather to do with a previously filed petition.<\/span><\/p>\n
