Following Britney Spears’ explosive testimony in court last week<\/a>, the pop star’s younger sister Jamie Lynn Spears has broken her silence. Via a series of Instagram stories<\/a> the 30-year-old spoke out about her sister and revealed she was “proud” of Britney. She could be seen getting emotional at times.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe only reason I haven\u2019t [spoken] before is because I felt like until my sister was able to speak for herself and say what she felt she needed to say publicly, that it wasn\u2019t my place and it wasn\u2019t the right thing to do,\u201d Spears said. \u201cBut now that she\u2019s very clearly spoken and said what she needed to say, I feel like I can follow her lead and say what I feel like I need to say.\u201d<\/p>\n

Spears continued, \u201cI don\u2019t care if she wants to run away to a rainforest and have a zillion babies in the middle of nowhere, or if she wants to come back and dominate the world the way she has so many times before, because I have nothing to gain or lose either way.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis situation does not affect me either way because I am only her sister, who is only concerned about her happiness,\u201d the actress added.<\/p>\n

Spears, the daughter to Lynne and Jamie Spears, has been notoriously quiet on social media surrounding the controversial conservatorship<\/a>. During her social media statement, the former Nickelodeon star responded to criticism that she wasn’t vocal enough.<\/p>\n

\u201cMaybe I didn\u2019t support her the way the public would like me to with a [#FreeBritney] hashtag on a public platform, but I can assure you that I\u2019ve supported my sister long before there was a hashtag, and I\u2019ll support her long after,\u201d Spears continued.<\/p>\n
