June 28, 2021<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Because it’s a day that ends in Y, it’s time for\u00a0<\/span>another celebrity<\/span><\/a>\u00a0to announce their entrance into the beauty space, and this one has us hoping it comes with a few superpowers, too. This time, it’s everyone’s favorite superhero\u00a0<\/span>Scarlett Johansson<\/span><\/a>, who announced today that she, alongside entrepreneur and beauty-fashion executive, Kate Foster will make their way into the world of beauty with a\u00a0<\/span>skincare brand<\/span><\/a>\u00a0expected to hit the shelves in early 2022.<\/span><\/p>\n

This shouldn’t be\u00a0<\/span>too<\/span><\/em> big of a shocker of an announcement. After all, the Tony and BAFTA winner, five-time Golden Globe nominee and two-time Academy Award nominee (plus many, many, many other things) have been the face of cosmetics companies like L’Or\u00e9al and Dolce & Gabbana Fragrance. That said, it’s sort of a natural progression to launch<\/span>\u00a0her own entrepreneurial endeavor.<\/p>\n

Johansson will serve as the Founder and Chairman of the new company, and Foster is the Co-Founder and CEO. Foster is most known as the former Founder and CEO of SwearBy, a digital platform focused on word-of-mouth product recommendations. The company’s funding comes from private investment firm The Najafi Companies, which has backed several celebrity-founded brands such as Tracee Ellis Ross’s\u00a0<\/span>Pattern Beauty<\/span><\/a>, Shay Mitchell’s B\u00e9is, and Millie Bobbi Brown’s Florence by Mills.<\/span><\/p>\n

“I’ve been fascinated by the transformative power of beauty since I was a child,” said Johansson in a statement shared with\u00a0<\/span>GRAZIA USA.<\/span><\/em>\u00a0“My mother instilled in me a passion for self-care from my early teenage years. Several years ago, I took a step back from my beauty deals with the goal of creating something true to me. The result is a clean, accessible approach to beauty.”\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
