There was <em>that\u00a0<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=YtK-yq-BQDU\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Super Bowl Pepsi commercial<\/a> and the moment she walked for Versace alongside fellow supermodels Naomi Campbell and Linda Evangelista. But no one could surely forget the model&#8217;s cameo in George Michael&#8217;s &#8220;Freedom! &#8217;90&#8221; music video.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking with\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vanityfair.com\/style\/2021\/06\/cindy-crawford-meaningful-beauty-hair-care-interview\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Vanity Fair<\/a>,\u00a0<\/em>Crawford revisited filming the 1990 project with a few little behind-the-scenes secrets to share. For those unacquainted with the video, Crawford seemingly nude, mouth the words to the hit single in a steaming bath tub. But according to the now 55-year-old, it wasn&#8217;t filled with water.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"George Michael - Freedom! \u201990 (Official Video)\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/diYAc7gB-0A?start=239&#038;feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;So I wasn\u2019t just lounging in a tub. Plus, it was very tricky, because they had to get me up high enough so they could tell it was me from the back without showing too much,&#8221; Crawford explained to the publication. &#8220;It was a very acrobatic situation there. They put a bunch of grease in my hair, and I was like, \u201cOh really? I\u2019m going to be the girl with the greasy hair in the tub?\u201d&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>She continued, &#8220;And then they wanted me to put the towel on my head with the white shirt. I had seen what the other women had worn because I was [filming on] the second day, and I was like, \u201cWait, they probably all said no to the tub, and that was the scene that was left! But then when I saw the video, I [realized I] should have just trusted Fincher and his vision, because it ended up being such a great moment for me, too\u2014and for everybody.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Crawford also touched on how the industry has changed due to technology and social media.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It keeps us in these little private bubbles,&#8221; she noted. &#8220;Especially sitting in a makeup chair, I see a lot of young models and they\u2019re just lost and they\u2019re scrolling, and they might be missing out on meeting their best friend who\u2019s the person doing their hair or their nails.
