June 16, 2021:\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>It’s time to put the dark times of this previous year behind us and move forward with an optimistic mindset, as exemplified by the one and only Donatella Versace<\/a>. Steering completely away from cozy fashion for resort 2022, loungewear is one category you won’t find in the 44-piece collection. Instead, the Italian fashion designer brings fun and vibrant life to her latest lineup, comprising pieces bound to turn heads.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The first thing we noticed about the resort collection was the use of color. Versace tends to stick to its heritage colorways, but Donatella sees Versace in bold, saturated hues for the post-pandemic era. “I think there’s a renewed sense of optimism right now, and I wanted this collection to speak to that,” she says in a statement shared with\u00a0<\/span>GRAZIA.\u00a0<\/span><\/em>“This season is about having fun with fashion again, and it feels right to put something positive into the world. We will never return to the old world or to the old “normal”; there’s no going backward. This is what the new\u00a0<\/span>now\u00a0<\/span><\/em>looks like to me.”\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Versace Resort 2022 features a mix of monochrome styles and unmissable designs like psychedelic prints and greca signatures. The standout new acid and pastel print, titled “<\/span>Medusa Music,” <\/span><\/em>reimagines 70s psychedelia for modern times.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The trippy patterns decorate the classic A-lined and clean-cut silhouettes we’ve grown to love from the fashion house. The collection also features everything from loose-fitting denim and puffer coats to structured blazers and mini skirts. And, thankfully, the brand unveiled new La Medusa handbags in shapes we can see are destined to be the next big It-bag. Versace brings new life to archival silhouettes, including tweed sets (a node to a Gianni Versace<\/a> set he made for Claudia Schiffer in the 90s.)<\/p>\n

This collection was made for the fashion lover ready to hit the streets and make a statement.
