Melissa Barrera<\/a> came in with deep, thoughtful questions in a charming new video outlining her nighttime routine<\/a>. In the 12-minute video, t<\/span>he In The Heights<\/em><\/a> star walks viewers through her pre-bed regimen, lovingly showing that even celebrities can feel goofy rubbing creams all over their faces.<\/p>\n

After taking a few tries to introduce the video’s concept, she dives in with Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm to remove her makeup, calling it “the most delicious thing ever.” Her sink begins draining while she’s mid-sentence, and she takes a pause to patiently wait while the sink does its thing, whispering “Thanks,” when it’s clear it’s done, before washing her face with Pierre Fabre Dexeryl Cleansing Cream.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

When she remembers to take note of how many steps are in her skincare routine, she pauses before saying that she has no idea, which…same? After showering, Barrera\u2014who was recently announced as a Global Brand Ambassador for Clinique\u2014tones her skin with Clinique Clarifying Lotion 2 and a cotton pad. She follows that with Clinique Smart Night Clinical Retinol. Her retinol advice<\/a> sounds like a recipe for disaster, but a recipe we would make time and time again: “They say to take a pea-sized amount, but I just never trust the pea-size is not a lot, and I just feel like it’s never enough, so what I do is I take a pea-size and I use it until it’s gone, and if I need a little bit more on, I put a little bit more on.” The recklessness is nothing short of admirable, Ms. Barrera.<\/span><\/p>\n

Next, she brushes her teeth with Parodontax Toothpaste, espousing that she is incapable of being pretty while brushing her teeth, calling her teeth-brushing style “aggressive.” Before brushing, she explains: “I do not know how to brush my teeth nicely like they do in movies.” Next, she oils her hair with K\u00e9rastase LHuile Original Hair Oil after struggling to unlock the pump \u2014 relatable \u2014 brushing it through with Tangle Teezer The Ultimate Detangler Brush, explaining that she does her skincare routine even when she’s… uh… not quite herself after a party. “That’s how much I love skincare, even when I’m not cognizant.”\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
