First and foremost, it is the last novel Austen wrote before her death in 1817. The storyline follows heroine Anne Elliot (played by Johnson) an older, unmarried woman who reconnects with an old lover. Netflix describes the character as &#8220;an unconforming woman with modern sensibilities\u201d who is \u201cliving with her snobby family on the brink of bankruptcy\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;When Frederick Wentworth \u2013 the dashing one she once sent away \u2013 crashes back into her life, Anne must choose between putting the past behind her or listening to her heart when it comes to second chances,\u201d the synopsis continues.<\/p>\n<p>Jarvis will play Elliot&#8217;s love interest with Golding fronting the cousin. She is known for directing Jake Gyllenhaal in <em>Sea Wall\/ A Life<\/em> on Broadway. We love a directorial debut moment.<\/p>\n<p>The cast will also include model Suki Waterhouse, Oscar nominee Richard E. Grant and BAFTA nominee Nikki Amuka-Bird.<\/p>\n<p>Johnson is of course best known for her lead role in\u00a0<em>Fifty Shades of Grey\u00a0<\/em>as well as appearances in\u00a0<em>How To Be Single\u00a0<\/em><em>and The High Note.\u00a0<\/em>Earlier this year, Jonson&#8217;s father Don admitted his daughter <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/articles\/dakota-johnson-cut-family-payroll\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">was cut from the family payroll<\/a> when she opted for acting over college.<\/p>\n<p>According to Mr. Johnson, she replied, \u201cDon\u2019t you worry about it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThree weeks later she had nailed down that part in David Fincher\u2019s The Social Network,\u201d the 71-year-old said, \u201cand the rest is, shall we say, cinema history.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And we can&#8217;t wait to see what she does with this latest character. If anything we can imagine comedic sass in droves.
