Toni Garrn has married long-term partner Alex Pettyfer, and is the latest supermodel<\/a> to opt for a deliciously low-key quarantine wedding. The 28-year-old, who announced her engagement to the 30-year-old actor in December, wore a simple champagne slip dress by Rat & Boa and\u2014to our delight\u2014an oversized straw hat with a thick black fastening.<\/p>\n

The history of ‘celebrity brides wearing hats’ is depressingly thin. Bianca Jagger, of course, wore an oversized white hat and veil with her Yves Saint Laurent Le Smoking suit when she married Mick in ’76. Emily Ratajkowski channelled Bianca when she married Sebastian Bear-McClard in a mustard Zara suit in 2018. Amal Clooney wore a wide-brimmed white hat with her Stella McCartney ensemble to her civil ceremony with George in Venice.<\/p>\n

Elizabeth Taylor, Kristen McMenamy and Celine Dion all wore extravagant headpieces of some description, but Danish actress Emma Rozenweig (n\u00e9e Leth) arguably takes the cake for ‘most iconic wedding hat’, with the outrageously oversized Jacquemus number she wore in 2018. But that, pretty much, is it.<\/p>\n
