Blake Lively<\/a>‘s father and beloved actor, Ernie Lively, has passed away aged 74. According to\u00a0The Hollywood Reporter<\/a>,\u00a0<\/em>he passed away on June 3 in Los Angeles due to cardiac complications. His family was with him before he died.<\/p>\n

Like Blake, Lively had a long and successful career in front of the camera. He made his acting debut in 1975 for The Waltons.\u00a0<\/em>He went on to star in the likes of Shocker<\/em> (1989), Air America<\/em> (1990), Showdown in Little Tokyo<\/em> (1991), American Pie 2<\/em> (2001) and Mulholland Falls<\/em> (1996). Lively is perhaps best known for his role in\u00a0Passenger 57\u00a0<\/em>(1992). He also had guest appearances on television such Jag, That ’70s Show, The X-Files<\/em> and Seinfeld<\/em>.<\/p>\n

For 90s babies, you may recall the man starring as Blake’s on-screen father in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants<\/em> franchise. The father-daughter duo were close and were often seen on the red carpet together.<\/p>\n

Lively has grappled with many health complications across his lifetime. He suffered a heart attack in 2003. People<\/em><\/a>\u00a0<\/em>reported he underwent stem-cell therapy as an experimental procedure in 2013 due to his condition.<\/p>\n

Ernie had four children in addition to Blake, Eric, 39, Jason, 53, and daughter Robyn, 49 and Lori, 54. Following Blake and Ryan Reynold’s wedding, Lively told\u00a0People<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>he wanted enough energy to play with this grandchildren.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy youngest daughter is newly married and wants a big family,\u201d he said of Blake, then 26. \u201cShe says she wants 30 kids. I said, \u2018Why don\u2019t you start with one?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI woke up the other morning and told my wife, \u2018I haven\u2019t felt this good in years,’\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n
