Jennifer Lopez<\/a> has signed a multi-year deal with Netflix<\/a> which will see her company, Nuyorican Productions, produce film and television content for the streaming service.<\/p>\n

In collaboration with her Nuyorican partners \u2013 producer Benny Medina and President Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas \u2013 Lopez will highlight the talent of female writers, directors and actors in the industry.<\/p>\n

The 51-year-old already has multiple projects in the works, including two for Netflix. In The Mother,<\/em> Lopez will produce and star as a trained assassin who embarks on a mission to protect the daughter she gave up years prior. With a screenplay by renowned Lovecraft Country<\/em> showrunner Misha Green and revisions by Academy Award Nominee Andrea Berloff (Straight Outta Compton<\/em>), the project marks the beginning of Lopez\u2019s Netflix takeover.<\/p>\n

Further, Lopez is producing and starring in Netflix\u2019s adaptation of the bestselling novel The Cipher<\/em> which follows an FBI agent who becomes embroiled in a serial killer\u2019s cat-and-mouse chase.<\/p>\n

Head of global TV at Netflix, Bela Bajaria labelled Lopez \u201ca singular talent whose creativity and vision have captivated audiences and inspired the next generation around the world.” “For years, she and the team at Nuyorican have brought a distinctive voice to entertainment, and I\u2019m looking forward to working with her and the team to create new series for our members to love,\u201d Bajaria said.<\/p>\n

Netflix\u2019s head of global films, Scott Stuber released a statement saying, \u201cThroughout every aspect of her career, Jennifer Lopez has been a force in entertainment. In partnering with her and Nuyorican, we know she will continue to bring impactful stories, joy and inspiration to audiences around the world\u201d.<\/p>\n

In her own statement, Lopez expressed excitement about her new venture with Netflix.<\/p>\n

The artist follows the likes of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle<\/a> who have signed a deal with Apple TV+ and Barack and Michelle Obama<\/a> who have also inked a deal with Netflix in the past.<\/p>\n
