Since her Olympic<\/a> debut in 2016, where her athletic<\/a> prowess soared as she became the first female U.S. gymnast to win four gold medals, Simone Biles<\/a> has pronounced her unshakeable dominion over the world of gymnastics. On Sunday, the 24-year-old phenom cemented her legacy as the greatest of all time (or as we call her, the GOAT<\/em>) when she secured her seventh US All-Around championship title, eclipsing national records. With this already-expected win under her belt, Biles has been rightfully bestowed the honor of being the most decorated female US gymnast.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Her preparation at the national championship to vault the literal and figurative obstacles ahead were indicative of how leisurely she is able to glide through the events without flaunting even her most signature and astonishing moves. In this weekend’s routine, Biles left out her eponymous double-double balance beam dismount and the Yurchenko double pike vault which she historically debuted as the first woman to perform the challenging stunt at the U.S. Classic two weeks ago. Notoriously performed by men only, the move requires massive adrenaline to fuel a roundoff onto the springboard, followed by a back handspring onto the vault, and then the grand finale of two backflips in a pike position before landing.<\/span><\/p>\n

Since entering the U.S. Championships in 2013, Biles has consecutively won every all-around competition and this year’s was by a 4.7 point margin. She was previously tied for six titles with Clara Schroth Lomady, whose titles were won between 1945 and 1952, and she is now tied with US Gymnastics Hall of Famer Alfred Jochim for most by any American.\u00a0 <\/span>\u201cIt\u2019s really emotional, especially going into my second time doing an Olympic run,\u201d Biles told NBC Sports<\/a> following her win. \u201cIt\u2019s really crazy.” She added, “\u201cIt\u2019s been a lot of fun, but it\u2019s been a lot of stress, too.\u201d In a little over six weeks, Biles will be heading to Tokyo after the coronavirus pandemic postponed last
