Pop superstar Taylor Swift<\/a> is heading back to the big screen. The 31-year-old is set to appear in David O. Russell\u2019s first project after 2015\u2019s Joy<\/em>. The<\/span>\u00a0super-secret<\/span><\/em>\u00a0film is said to be a period piece but details about the plot and the very title itself are being kept under tight wraps. The\u00a0<\/span>evermore<\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/em>artist is returning to the big screen for the first time since the movie musical,\u00a0<\/span>Cats<\/a>.<\/span><\/em>\u00a0Swift\u2019s acting credits also include her role as Jeff Bridges\u2019 hologram daughter in\u00a0<\/span>The Giver<\/span><\/em>, and before that she was a cartoon human in\u00a0<\/span>The Lorax<\/span><\/em>. Moreover, more than a decade ago she also starred in\u00a0<\/span>Valentine\u2019s Day<\/span><\/em>. And now, according to Collider\u2019s unnamed insider folks, Swift is going to join Russell\u2019s mysterious new movie. Similar to the plot of the period film, Swift’s role is being kept under wraps, though her involvement in the untitled project was first tipped by gossip account Deuxmoi<\/a> on Instagram before being reported by <\/span>Showbiz 411<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

What we do know about this movie is that it will have a truly impressive cast. In addition to Swift, the movie will star Christian Bale, Margot Robbie, John David Washington, Rami Malek, Zoe Saldana, Anya Taylor-Joy, Chris Rock, Mike Myers, Michael Shannon, Robert De Niro, Andrea Riseborough, Matthias Schoenaerts, Timothy Olyphant, and Alessandro Nivola. Production for the movie has already wrapped in Los Angeles and its release is slated via 20th Century Studios, though no specific date has yet been announced. The movie has extremely limited details, but if one thing is sure \u2014 it will be star-studded.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The 31-year-old pop superstar recently broke the all-time U.S. record for largest vinyl album sales in a single week, with her ninth studio album,\u00a0<\/span>evermore<\/span><\/em>, selling over 40,000 copies in just three days.\u00a0<\/span>Evermore’s<\/span><\/em>\u00a0vinyl record was released on May 28 and smashed the single-week sales according to MRC Data, Billboard<\/em> reported. Until now, the crown had been held by Jack White’s Lazaretto<\/em>, which sold 40,000 copies during the first week it dropped in June 2014. The eleven-time Grammy winner initially released\u00a0<\/span>evermore<\/span><\/em> on December 11 of last year, describing it as a “sister album” to her surprise record, folklore.
