Marc Jacobs<\/a>, and subsequently, his eponymous fashion label<\/a>, are well known for having flawless taste so of course his fancy for interior decor<\/a> is no different. On the May 20 episode of Bravo\u2019s <\/span>Million Dollar Listing<\/span><\/i>, the fashion designer\u2019s townhouse in New York City was featured as his husband, Charly Defrancesco, toured the roughly 5000 square foot home alongside celebrity realtor Ryan Serhant. Last March, Serhant revealed that he sold the West Village apartment\u00a0 in just one day, but viewers finally were able to get an exclusive look at the luxurious abode that was listed for a whopping $12 million.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Everything is a work of art,” said Defrancesco, who married Jacobs in 2019. “Everything was a considered decision, every doorknob, every light switch \u2026 you name it.” <\/span>And a work of art (along with a lofty budget) it is<\/span><\/i>! The four-story apartment features a living room fireplace made out of pearly mica stone, a galley kitchen with 70s-esque glossy brown marble countertops, and custom 18 karat yellow gold leaf on the bedroom ceiling and powder room that only few \u201cin the world\u201d can execute. Gold is obviously the aesthetic-in-charge as the powder room features $100,000 gold ceiling decor and vintage gold doorknobs that retail for $3000 are on every door. The grandeur is in every detail, including the $300 apiece gold Meljac light switches mounted on the hallways that were installed as a reminder of Jacobs\u2019 childhood home.\u00a0 \u201cWe don’t f*ck around here,” Defranscesco says with a chuckle. He couldn\u2019t have said it any better than we could have.<\/span><\/p>\n

In an interview with <\/span>Architectural Digest<\/span><\/a> where the home appeared in the cover story,\u00a0 Jacobs said, <\/span>\u201cI\u2019m not big on having a particular concept or look. I just want to live with things I genuinely love\u2014great Art Deco furniture, pieces from the 70s, and contemporary art.\u201d In remarks of the glamour, he added, \u201cBut I didn\u2019t want the house to feel like a pristine gallery or a Deco stage set\u2014just something smart, sharp, and comfortable.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
