Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are celebrating three years of wedded bliss.<\/p>\n

The couple walked down the aisle at St. George\u2019s Chapel, Windsor, in the United Kingdom together on May 19, 2018, in what was the most-anticipated royal wedding since his older brother, Prince William, married Kate Middleton seven years prior.<\/p>\n

Harry and Meghan, who met through a mutual friend in July 2016, dated for almost two years before tying the knot in a lavish ceremony.\u00a0According to the Evening Standard<\/em><\/a>, the pair\u2019s first date was in a private room at the London restaurant The Dean Street Townhouse. Harry reportedly enjoyed a beer while Meghan sipped on a martini.<\/p>\n

The couple then enjoyed a whirlwind courtship, which included one odd but exciting date \u2014 an incognito trip to the supermarket.\u00a0\u201cThe first time Meghan and I met up for her to come and stay with me, we met up in a supermarket in London, pretending we didn\u2019t know each other, texting each other from the other side of the aisles,\u201d Prince Harry recently revealed on the podcast Armchair Expert. \u201cThere\u2019s people looking at me, giving me all these weird looks, and coming up to me and saying \u2018hi.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

The pair played it coy during the following months until Meghan finally opened up to\u00a0Vanity Fair\u00a0<\/em>about her relationship with Harry.\u00a0\u201cWe\u2019re a couple. We\u2019re in love. I\u2019m sure there will be a time when we will have to come forward and present ourselves and have stories to tell, but I hope what people will understand is that this is our time,\u201d she said in the October 2017 issue. \u201cThis is for us. It\u2019s part of what makes it so special, that\u2019s just ours. But we\u2019re happy. Personally, I love a great love story.\u201d<\/p>\n

Finally, on Nov. 27, 2017, Prince Charles announced his son was engaged. \u201cSo, the fact that I fell in love with Meghan so incredibly quickly was sort of confirmation to me that everything \u2014 all the stars \u2014 were aligned. Everything was just perfect,\u201d Harry gushed that day. \u201cIt was this beautiful woman just sort of literally tripped and fell into my life, I fell into her life.\u201d<\/p>\n

The couple walked down the aisle in the spring of 2018 and said their vows in front of 2,000 attendees while the rest of the world watched on television.<\/p>\n

That October, Kensington Palace announced the newlyweds were expecting their first child, and Harry and Meghan welcomed their son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, on May 6, 2019.<\/p>\n

At the beginning of last year, the parents began the process of slowly stepping away from their duties with the royal family, and they completed their final royal engagements in March 2020.<\/p>\n
