May 13, 2021:\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>Today, Fendi revealed that the Italian\u00a0<\/span>luxury fashion house<\/span><\/a>\u00a0is launching its second partnership with\u00a0<\/span>New York City-based<\/span><\/a>\u00a0artist Sarah Coleman. There’s a strong chance you already know of the creative, who’s famed for her “disruptive” visual art collaborations. Most notable is her bold decision to deconstruct vintage Louis Vuitton bags and transform them into chic folding chairs in 2018.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

But back to Coleman’s newest project: the FENDI FF Vertigo Collection, which fuses a free-spirited 70s aesthetic with 90s streetwear, and of course, the label’s signature motif. Coleman and Silvia Venturini Fendi, FENDI’s Accessories and Menswear Artistic Director, meticulously crafted a distorted, turned version of the classic FF pattern that’s present throughout the collection. Dubbed FF Vertigo, the fun new motif is colorful and uplifting, perfect for sporting in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“Sarah has a great sense of artistic fun and clever irony. I was naturally drawn to her work and we first explored a collaboration with our Miami Design District boutique during Design Miami last December,” Venturini Fendi told\u00a0<\/span>WWD.<\/span><\/em><\/a>\u00a0“We always love to partner with new designers who share the values of Fendi, yet with their own personal style. Sarah not only values craft but challenges it with her subversive sense of humor, taking it into new directions.”<\/span><\/p>\n
