In August 2019, after less than a year of marriage, Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth<\/a> announced their separation. Though the former couple\u2019s rep said at the time that the pair were just \u201clovingly taking this time apart,\u201d within hours Cyrus was spotted kissing another woman\u2014Brody Jenner\u2019s ex wife, Kaitlynn Cater (Jenner said last week the women’s brief fling was \u2018gnarly\u2019)\u2014before shacking up with Australian singer Cody Simpson shortly after.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

For his part, Hemsworth quietly relocated to Byron Bay, where he started dating Australian model Gabriella Brooks.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Now, Cyrus is reflecting on her decade-long relationship for the four-year anniversary of the love song she wrote for Hemsworth, titled \u2018Malibu.\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n

The 28-year-old singer took to Instagram on May 11th to post a tribute to the song that was released on the same day in 2017, sharing a<\/span> video of herself working on the track in her home studio in Malibu, where she lived with Hemsworth from 2015 (when they got back together) until their divorce in 2019.<\/span><\/p>\n
