Turns out we’ve got the Spice Girls to thank for more than just 90s girl power. We’ve also got to thank them for Beyonc\u00e9!<\/p>\n

Victoria Beckham, aka Posh Spice, has revealed that the Queen of Pop herself once thanked the girls for inspiring her to focus on her passions and be “proud to be a girl.”<\/p>\n

“I met Beyonc\u00e9 a few years ago, and she actually said to me, \u2018It was the Spice Girls that inspired me and made me want to do what I do and made me proud to be a girl and proud to be who I am,\u2019\u201d Victoria said on Dear Media\u2019s Breaking Beauty podcast.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd when someone like Beyonc\u00e9, who is so iconic and was such a strong woman, says that she was inspired by the Spice Girls, I think that\u2019s quite something.” No kidding.<\/p>\n

Beyonc\u00e9 and Victoria have had similar career trajectories, with Bey finding international fame in 1999 with Destiny’s Child, three years after the Spice Girls exploded with the iconic “Wannabe.”<\/p>\n

Destiny’s Child had already been together for nearly a decade and had been through several line-up changes by the time “Bills Bills Bills,” from their second album The Writings On The Wall<\/em> ,saw them hit the charts.<\/p>\n

By 2003 Beyonc\u00e9, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams had forged solo careers, and Beyonc\u00e9 is now arguably one of the most powerful women in pop.<\/p>\n

As for Posh Spice<\/a> – the Spice Girls also set out on their own paths, with Victoria releasing several solo singles and making appearances in Ugly Betty <\/em> and Zoolander<\/em> before becoming an acclaimed fashion designer.<\/p>\n

The mom-of-four<\/a> married British soccer player David Beckham, and their family is one of the powerful brands.<\/p>\n
