Thanks to the pandemic, Ellie Goulding managed to keep her pregnancy a secret from the world until she was ready to tell the public her personal news on her own terms<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

At 30 weeks, Goulding revealed she and her husband, art dealer Caspar Jopling, were expecting their first child\u2014something the singer said came as a complete surprise.<\/span><\/p>\n

Now, the couple has revealed they\u2019ve given birth to their baby, with Jopling noting the earth\u2019s population has now increased by one on Instagram.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“Mum and baby both healthy and happy,” Jopling announced in the next slide. “Extremely grateful.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Goulding’s husband then asked for her fans to allow the family privacy to enjoy their new addition, writing, “I don’t ever address the public attention that comes with Ellie’s job, but during this magical and personal moment we would really appreciate being able to enjoy our privacy…Thank you.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Back in February, Goulding said that having a baby was “not the plan”: “The thought of getting pregnant didn’t seem like it could be a reality.”<\/span><\/p>\n
