Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet is reportedly set to join inaugural poet Amanda Gorman and CDFA Chairman Tom Ford in co-hosting duties at the 2021 Met Gala.<\/p>\n

The Call Me By Your Name<\/em> and Little Women<\/em> actor\u2019s sartorial ventures have frequented many a red carpet these past couple of years. Gucci. Louis Vuitton. Alexander McQueen, the list goes on. It now seems the 25-year-old (who may or may not be dating Lily Rose Depp for a second time<\/a>) has caught the eye of Anna Wintour.<\/p>\n

Tickets to the gala \u2013 which will now take place in the second week of September<\/a> in the hope the world (or at least the fashion set in New York) will have returned to \u201cnormal\u201d \u2013 are reportedly costing $30,000. Page Six<\/a><\/em> is reporting that tables were going for $275,000 and are already sold out. The black-tie event raises funds for\u00a0the Met\u2019s Costume Institute.<\/p>\n

\u201cPending government guidelines, a slightly smaller celebration is planned for September 13, 2021, timed to coincide with the close of what will hopefully be an in-person New York Fashion Week,\u201d a statement from Vogue<\/em> read on April 12. \u201cThe event will then return to regular scheduling\u2014the first Monday in May\u2014in 2022.\u201d<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s Met Gala theme will celebrate \u201chomegrown designers\u201d as an accompaniment to the two-part exhibition coming to the Metropolitan Museum of Art this year through September 2022. Per Vogue<\/a>,<\/em> \u201cPart one, \u2018In America: A Lexicon of Fashion,\u2019 will open in the Anna Wintour Costume Center on September 18, 2021, and will remain on display when \u2018In America: An Anthology of Fashion\u2019 opens on May 5, 2022, in the period rooms of the American Wing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chalamet is yet to comment on the appointment. Gorman and Ford have not been officially confirmed.<\/p>\n

The gala was canceled last year. At the time, Meryl Streep, Emma Stone, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and Nicolas Ghesquiere were set to co-chair the event.<\/p>\n
