After a <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/us\/articles\/khloe-kardashian-unedited-photo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">social media<\/a> campaign to get LeVar Burton into a hosting gig on <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Jeopardy!<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, the show announced on April 21, he would be a guest host beginning in July. Burton has multi-generational fans thanks to hosting and executive producing PSB\u2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.seattletimes.com\/nation-world\/take-a-look-a-reading-rainbow-in-the-digital-age\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Reading Rainbow<\/em> from 1983 to 2006<\/a>, starring as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2015\/08\/03\/africa\/the-story-of-kunta-kinte-the-slave-who-fought-back\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Kunta Kinte in <em>Roots<\/em><\/a>, and Lieutenant Commander Geordi LaForge on \u201c<em>Star Trek: The Next Generation<\/em>.&#8221; He has 13 Emmys, a George Foster Peabody and a Grammy. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">After the show\u2019s longtime and beloved host <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2020\/11\/08\/entertainment\/alex-trebek-jeopardy-host-death-trnd\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">Alex Trebek passed away<\/a> from pancreatic cancer last November, fans began to champion Burton for the role, with a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.change.org\/p\/sony-pictures-entertainment-levar-burton-should-be-the-next-host-of-jeopardy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Change.org petition<\/a> garnering over 246,000 signatures.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">THANK YOU&#8230; to all y\u2019all for your passionate support!
