Angelina Jolie<\/a> and Brad Pitt<\/a> had always seemed liked the idyllic Hollywood couple. Sadly, it wasn’t to be forever with the couple splitting in 2016 with six kids to co-parent. After five years Jolie has revealed that the highly-publicized divorce changed her career.<\/p>\n

Speaking with\u00a0Entertainment Weekly<\/a>,\u00a0<\/em>Jolie revealed, “I love directing, but I had a change in my family situation that’s not made it possible for me to direct for a few years. I needed to just do shorter jobs and be home more, so I kind of went back to doing a few acting jobs,” she explained. “That’s really the truth of it.”<\/p>\n

Jolie and Pitt share custody of five out of six of their children, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh and twins Vivienne and Knox. The eldest son, Maddox is now 18years of age.<\/p>\n

Balancing five children as a single mother with filming commitments is not easy. Prior to the pandemic, Jolie temporarily relocated<\/a> her family to Albuquerque, New Mexico where she filmed HBO Max project, Those Who Wish Me Dead.\u00a0<\/em>In another rare interview<\/a>, the mother also admitted she is \u201clacking in all the skills to be a traditional stay-at-home mom.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe past few years have been pretty hard,\u201d she added. \u201cI\u2019ve been focusing on healing our family. It\u2019s slowly coming back, like the ice melting and the blood returning to my body.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Jolie and Pitt have tried to make co-parenting work over the past five years, what we didn’t know was the alleged domestic violence Jolie was facing during their marriage. In March, the\u00a0Mr. and Mrs. Smith<\/em> actress accused her ex-husband<\/a> of domestic violence in a new court filing. It is reported Jolie is willing to provide \u201cproof and authority in support\u201d of the claims.<\/p>\n
