The Gilmore Girls\u2019<\/span><\/i> Rory and Lorelai might be everyone\u2019s favorite on-screen mother-daughter duo, but off-screen perhaps Goldie Hawn and Kate Hudson take the crown.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The pair have always had an incredibly strong bond, something likely made even stronger due to Hudson\u2019s <\/span>estranged relationship with her father, Bill Hudson<\/span><\/a>, and the pair\u2019s shared love of acting: Hawn is an Oscar winner and Hudson, a Golden Globe winner.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Hawn married Bill Hudson in 1976, giving birth to her daughter, Kate, in April 1979, three years after the pair welcomed their first child, Oliver Hudson. Hawn and Hudson then divorced after six years of marriage in 1982.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Following their split, Hawn started dating actor Kurt Russell in 1983, who raised Hawn\u2019s two children as his own, in lieu of the children having any relationship with their birthfather, something Hudson said last year was a \u201c41 year issue.\u201d<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

Thankfully, Hudson always had her mom to lean on, who she once said she talks to almost every day. \u201cI can\u2019t really go a week. I\u2019ve gone a week, but it\u2019s super rare,\u201d she once told PopSugar<\/em><\/a>,<\/p>\n

Overnight, for Hudson\u2019s 42nd birthday, Hawn shared a sweet throwback photo of the pair to celebrate. In the image, the mother-daughter duo are seen laughing as they ride a mechanical bull. “Happy birthday my precious girl @katehudson. I love you as big as the universe,” Hawn wrote.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
