Following news the\u00a0Friends <\/em>reunion special will finally<\/em> air in the coming months, European tabloids have reported Jennifer Aniston<\/a> has told her co-stars she is adopting a child during production. TMZ<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>has since reached out to Aniston’s team where a rep has confirmed all reports are false.<\/p>\n

The outlet wrote, \u201crumors of Jennifer being in the process of adopting a baby are \u2018false and never happened.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Such news would almost be a non-event if it weren’t for the years of gossip surrounding the actress’ marital and child status. The media attention and speculation got so bad that in 2016, Aniston published an essay in the Huffington Post\u00a0<\/em>titled “For The Record.”<\/a> She called out tabloid publications for body shaming and unfair cultural standards on women.<\/p>\n

“For the record, I am not pregnant,” Aniston wrote. “What I am is fed up. I\u2019m fed up with the sport-like scrutiny and body shaming that occurs daily under the guise of journalism,’ the ‘First Amendment’ and ‘celebrity news.’\u201d<\/p>\n

“This past month in particular has illuminated for me how much we define a woman\u2019s value based on her marital and maternal status,” she continued. “The sheer amount of resources being spent right now by press trying to simply uncover whether or not I am pregnant (for the bajillionth time… but who\u2019s counting) points to the perpetuation of this notion that women are somehow incomplete, unsuccessful, or unhappy if they\u2019re not married with children.”<\/p>\n

Five years later, her words still ring true. The Morning Show<\/em>\u00a0<\/em>star has also commented in the past about her marriages to Brad Pitt, which ended in 2005, and to Justin Theroux, which ended in 2017.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy marriages, they\u2019ve been very successful, in [my] personal opinion,\u201d Aniston told ELLE US<\/em> in 2018<\/a>. \u201cAnd when they came to an end, it was a choice that was made because we chose to be happy, and sometimes happiness didn\u2019t exist within that arrangement anymore.\u201d<\/p>\n

I’ll reiterate it again for the people up the back, you don’t need a partner or a child to be happy.<\/p>\n

Matthew Perry confirmed the highly-anticipated Friends\u00a0<\/em>reunion would come to fruition in 2021, in a now-deleted Instagram post<\/a>.
