Earlier this week,\u00a0Khlo\u00e9 Kardashian<\/a> took to her Instagram account to clear some confusion around an unedited photo<\/a> of the 36-year-old allegedly snapped and posted to social media without her permission. She said she\u2019s faced \u201cpressure, constant ridicule and judgment\u201d her whole life, which she said was behind her decision to have the bikini photo, posted by mistake, removed.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cHey guys, this is me and my body unretouched and unfiltered,\u201d the reality star began her post, which included a video of her just in underwear (there is speculation this video was edited, too<\/a>). \u201cThe photo that was posted this week is beautiful. But as someone who has struggled with body image her whole life, when someone takes a photo of you that isn’t flattering in bad lighting or doesn’t capture your body the way it is after working so hard to get it to this point \u2014 and then shares it to the world \u2014 you should have every right to ask for it not to be shared \u2014 no matter who you are.\u201d This would be a totally fair and valid point if the Kardashian\/Jenner family hadn\u2019t put the pressure on themselves with their own editing and modifying antics. Sure, this can be applied to photos but the same can be said of their physical appearances, as well. This family has contributed to, if not created, the beauty standard over the last two decades through Photoshop, surgeries and fetishizing Blackness.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
