The past few weeks have been full of good tidings: now, nearly one out of every three adults in the U.S. has received at least one vaccine shot; spring, it seems, is here to stay; and this week, just in time for the warmer climes, the French fashion darling Marine Serre, known for her cutting-edge, sustainability-focused designs<\/a>, dropped a limited-edition capsule collection at The Webster.<\/p>\n

“Her approach to fashion has always been so forward-thinking,” Laure Heriard Dubreuil, the founder and creative director of the American retail concept, said of Serre, whom she first met while serving on the jury of the LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers in 2017. (Despite having only one collection to her name, Serre\u2014who, at the time, was working at Balenciaga\u2014won the year’s award.) “Each season when we see her new collections, I am constantly reminded of why I love fashion: for the creativity and non-conforming attitude. To be able to have her envision her iconic eco-futuristic designs and blend them with The Webster DNA is such a dream!”<\/p>\n

The six-piece lineup consists of new takes on Serre’s second-skin top and matching leggings in her signature crescent moon motif (it’s been spotted on everyone from Beyonc\u00e9 to Dua Lipa and Kylie Jenner), as well as a handful of upcycled<\/a>, statement-making numbers. There are straight-leg, high-waist jeans; a button-down shirt made of patchwork silk scarves; a midi-length dress stitched together from one-time pillowcases; and a denim mini skirt, which Dubreuil has taken to pairing with a knit sweater and combat boots in her own day-to-day. In true The Webster form, each recycled style has been reimagined in the boutique’s signature pink palette. Call it feel-good fashion, in every sense.<\/p>\n
