In an interview with <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vulture.com\/2021\/03\/jennifer-love-hewitt-interview-heartbreakers-role-call.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Vulture<\/a>,<\/em> the\u00a0<em>Ghost Whisperer<\/em> and <em>Party Of Five<\/em> star didn&#8217;t understand the toxic relationship with the media until watching the new documentary and realized she was continually sexualized as a young star.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe conversation for a very long time in my career was always about [my body] first \u2014 then, \u2018Oh yeah, you were really great in the movie, too,\u2019 later,\u201d Hewitt told the publication.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt the time that I was going through it, and interviewers were asking what now would be incredibly inappropriate, gross things, it didn\u2019t feel that way,\u201d she said. \u201cFor some reason, in my brain, I was able to just go, \u2018Okay, well, I guess they wouldn\u2019t be asking if it was inappropriate.\u2019 But now, as a 42-year-old woman with a daughter, I definitely look back on it and go, \u2018Ew.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_189885\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-189885\" style=\"width: 1692px\" class=\"wp-caption alignfull -width\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-189885 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/GettyImages-104601762.jpg\" alt=\"Jennifer Love Hewitt\" width=\"1692\" height=\"2542\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-189885\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Jennifer Love Hewitt during The 26th Annual People&#8217;s Choice Awards at Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Pasadena, California, United States. (Photo by SGranitz\/WireImage)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Following Hewitt&#8217;s 2001 <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/articles\/the-best-beauty-moments-from-our-favourite-rom-coms-valentines-day\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">rom-com<\/a> hit,\u00a0<em>Heartbreakers,<\/em> the actress said she began resenting reporters who wouldn&#8217;t focus on her acting amid promo for the film.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was disappointed that it was all about body stuff, because I had really worked hard in that movie to do a good job as an actress,\u201d she said. \u201cNow that I\u2019m older, I think, \u2018Gosh, I wish that I had known how inappropriate that was so I could have defended myself somehow or just not answered those questions.\u2019 I laughed it off a lot of the time, and I wish maybe I hadn\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Heartbreakers - Trailer\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/QbccrEo4Jko?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, such sexist comments and questions from the media are common still to this day.
