Lil Nas X<\/a> is breaking new ground. After his record-shattering<\/a> viral single \u201cOld Town Road,\u201d and last year\u2019s bop, \u201cHoliday,\u201d the 21-year-old rapper is getting incredibly personal on his most recent single<\/a>. On Thursday, Lil Nas X (ne\u00e9 Montero Lamar Hill) released the music video for \u201cMontero (Call Me By Your Name)\u201d with a heartfelt note posted to his Instagram<\/a> and Twitter<\/a> accounts. Addressed to his 14-year-old self, he began the letter, \u201cI wrote a song with our name in it.\u201d He continued: \u201cI know we promised to never come out publicly, I know we promised to never be \u2018that\u2019 type of gay person, I know we promised to die with the secret, but this will open doors for many other queer people to simply exist.\u201d He went on to acknowledge that making this declaration publicly is very scary for him. \u201cPeople will be angry, people will say I am pushing an agenda. But the truth is, I am. the agenda to make people stay the f*uck out of other people\u2019s lives and stop dictating who they should be. Sending you love from the future.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
