NEW YORK CITY: Brooklyn\u2019s bygone era used to play host to many a throbbing rave. Ask any cool New Yorker and they\u2019ll tell you their nostalgia for the time runs as deep as the house sets \u2013 the true star and heartbeat to any good, days-long party. On Thursday night, Bulgari harkened back to this time, reimagining the warehouse party at the east borough\u2019s famous Navy Yard \u2013 one with Zendaya, Lily Aldridge and Ciara\u2019s \u201c1, 2 Step.\u201d<\/p>\n

The bash marked the launch of Bulgari\u2019s bold B.zero1 Rock collection \u2013 and the Italian jewelry and accessories house\u2019s production budget for the night seemed as bottomless as the Prosecco. Ornate, orange archways \u2013 meant to resemble a Roman ruin \u2013 greeted more than 1000 guests as they collected passing hors d\u2019oeuvres and joined the well-heeled congregation at the center of the dance floor. Spirits were high but the see-sawing neon strobe lights above guests at Duggal Greenhouse were higher as smoke machines heralded the arrival of Bulgari faces: Zendaya (in Rahul Mishra), Lily Aldridge (in Alexander Wang) and Naomi Scott (in Prabul Gurung). Each was wearing jewelry estimated at millions and were followed closely by security guards.<\/p>\n

While American singer Becky G opened the music performances, it was Ciara \u2013 twerking and announcing she was pregnant with her third child \u2013 who had the model crowd dancing with renditions of hits \u201cGoodies\u201d and \u201c1, 2 Step.\u201d Candice Swanepoel \u2013 in a burgundy knitted Cult Gaia and stacked in Bulgari rings \u2013 was spotted dancing with stylist Elizabeth Stewart. Also in attendance were Martha Hunt, Carolyn Murphy, James Turlington and one man in head-to-toe floral and on stilts. Diplo \u2013 in a mustard yellow suit, ten-gallon hat and western bolo tie \u2013 took to the decks to see the party out ’til the lights came up at 1am.<\/p>\n

Bulgari today announced it made a major donation to the Lazzaro Spallanzani Hospital in the brand\u2019s hometown of Rome, the first medical team to isolate the deadly coronavirus. \u201cThe team of researchers can now work with the most technologically advanced tools, accelerating the achievement of the result and to benefit everyone on the planet potentially victim of the virus, starting from China where it exploded first,\u201d Bulgari CEO Jean-Christophe Babin said in a statement.<\/p>\n
