Birds Of Prey. Black Widow<\/em>. Mulan.<\/em> Wonder Woman 1984.<\/em> It\u2019s going to be a big year for movies with female superheroes at their centers. But if we tied your hands with the golden lasso \u2013 a weapon Diana Prince uses to get the truth out of her enemies \u2013 we\u2019d bet all those red, white and blue stars that you\u2019re most excited about are in Gal Gadot\u2019s new film.<\/p>\n

The Wonder Woman 1984<\/em> actor walked the red carpet at the 92nd<\/sup> Academy Awards, a delightful little reminder that we are just T minus four months away from a new era of wonder. In a black, sheer lace top and pale pink, tiered skirt \u2013 both by Givenchy \u2013 Gadot accessorized with a 76 carat Tiffany & Co ‘Clara’ diamond necklace worth over $2 million.<\/p>\n

(To give this a little bit of context, Gadot was reportedly paid just $300,000 for her first Wonder Woman<\/em> film<\/a>).<\/p>\n

The necklace itself \u2013 worn atop of the Givenchy and not underneath a la Gwyneth Paltrow in Fendi at this year\u2019s Golden Globes<\/a> \u2013 took Tiffany\u2019s master artisans almost two years to create. The oval diamond at its center is over 11 carats in size. (FYI: The only other actor on the carpet with a Tiffany necklace worth more was Charlize Theron. The Bombshell<\/em> star’s necklace was valued at $5 million.)<\/p>\n

While the conversation of the night has centered on female directors being omitted from the Best Director nomination category,<\/a> Birds Of Prey<\/em> director Cathy Yan said just yesterday that she turned to Wonder Woman 1984<\/em> director, the brilliant Patty Jenkins, for advice. \u201cI called her a bunch of times throughout and she was very much working on Wonder Woman 1984<\/em> at the same time, and she gave a lot of great advice,\u201d said Yan. \u201cIt\u2019s nice to have that camaraderie. It\u2019s not even just among female directors \u2014 directing is actually quite lonely. There aren\u2019t that many of us and what we do is pretty singular so I\u2019m always very curious talking to other directors.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wonder Woman 1984<\/em> will hit cinemas in June.<\/p>\n
