Saweetie let us know on her introduction to the world \u2014 on her <\/span>\u201cIcy Girl\u201d<\/span><\/a> viral freestyle back in 2017 \u2014 she can\u2019t stop, won\u2019t stop and now <\/span>everyone\u2019s digital best friend<\/span><\/a> in their head is on the <\/span>Cosmo\u2019s April cover star<\/span><\/a> and perched for world domination. \u201cI\u2019m really grateful for my start,\u201d Saweetie said. \u201cBecause the mistakes, the struggle, the grind\u2014it allows me to appreciate the rewards that come now because I know what it feels like to sleep in motels, to drive and do promo, to be stressed out.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Saweetie also tells the magazine after she\u2019s taken vocal lessons, learned how to dance and rap without missing a beat, so she\u2019s a better performer now after a radio host insulted her freestyle on air \u2014 and social media quickly piled on. \u201cIt was a really dark point in my life. I went from being so loved so quickly because of \u201cIcy Grl\u201d to, on my first promo run, well, you saw the interview. The script flipped really quick, like night and day. I was like, \u2018<\/span>Wait\u2026<\/span><\/i>\u2019\u201d she trails off. \u201cI had PTSD from that.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
