At The Blonds, makeup artist Kabuki certainly had a lot of fun putting together one of the boldest looks at NYFW so far. Using MAC Cosmetics<\/a>, he painted a series of gilded angel wings across models’ eyes, worked back with starlit skin and lips that had been brushed with gold.<\/p>\n

Kabuki wanted a metallic wing of sorts, so used a series of MAC products (including the Hyper Real Glow Palette<\/a>) to paint an open reverse bronze liner, before filling in the center with a soft yellow gold. The water line was filled with white for a shape that really popped, while the brow was separated and set with gel. To achieve perfect skin, Kabuki used the MAC Pro Longwear Nourishing Waterproof Foundation<\/a>, as well as copious amounts of Strobe Cream<\/a> (on limbs as well).<\/p>\n

The inspiration was the idea of a rococo version of heaven, or to use Designer and self-dubbed Head Bitch In Charge Phillipe Blond’s words, it’s the concept of “fashion as religion.” In an exclusive backstage interview with GRAZIA, Kabuki shared he wanted to create “layers and layers of gold… I wanted a lot of makeup that still felt light.” We might be biased, but we think he nailed the brief.<\/p>\n

To finish, each model with fit with a bold stiletto manicure set with baroque accents, and a low-lying hairstyle framed with baby hairs swirling across the forehead. The Blonds well and truly took us to beauty church.<\/p>\n
