It\u2019s been exactly a year since <\/span>Breonna Taylor was murdered by the police<\/span><\/a> in Louisville, Kentucky, shot dead while she slept in her bed alongside her boyfriend, Kenneth Walker, by two plainclothes officers who used a battering ram to enter their home with a no-knock warrant. The two officers were fired but none were charged or prosecuted for her death. Since then, Taylor has become the face of <\/span>#SayHerName<\/span><\/a>, a movement created by <\/span>African American Policy Forum<\/span><\/a> in 2014 to include women in the national conversation about race and policing. Her likeness has appeared on <\/span>magazine covers<\/span><\/i><\/a>, Billboards, and social media galvanizing a movement within a movement. In her re-introduction to <\/span>The Cut <\/span><\/i>as editor-in-chief<\/span><\/a>, Lindsay Peoples Wagner spoke with <\/span>Taylor\u2019s mother Tamika Palmer, and her sister, Ju\u2019Niyah Palmer<\/span><\/a> on the importance of continuing to say her name.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
