Chiara Ferragni traces her love story with eyewear to the start of her fashion career, which famously began with the launch of her blog,\u00a0<\/span>The Blonde Salad<\/span><\/em><\/a>, in 2009. In the decade since, the 33-year-old has amassed a sizable sunglasses collection to accompany her enviable wardrobe<\/a>, ranging from\u2014as told to <\/span>GRAZIA<\/span><\/em>\u2014”simple and chic styles” to “more extravagant pairs.” She ambiguously describes her shades collection as “extensive,” but a quick Google search of the entrepreneur wearing sunglasses puts that number in the hundreds. She’s not playing around when it comes to her favorite accessory.<\/span><\/p>\n

Despite how many sunglasses the Milan native<\/a> owns, she still attaches each pair to a special memory. “I fell in love with my first pair of sunglasses when I was 13,” Ferragni tells <\/span>GRAZIA<\/span><\/em>. “I remember them vividly because I bought them with my own pocket money in Cremona, Italy. They made me feel so cool and grown-up.” When asked to reflect on another pair that makes her feel nostalgic, she said: “I absolutely loved wearing gradient lenses to music festivals<\/a>. I would pair them with a colorful fringed jacket for the perfect spring look. I miss live music and events, so this style brings back those happy memories.”<\/span><\/p>\n

In keeping with her longstanding love of eyewear, the designer teamed up with Sunglass Hut to unveil her first sunglass line as an expansion of her eponymous fashion label, the <\/span>Chiara Ferragni Collection<\/span><\/a>, founded in 2013. The line has been in the works since 2018, when she visited the retailer’s manufacturing plant. “It was all so interesting: the techniques, the creation of the designs, and the skill of the artisans creating the sunglasses,” she tells <\/span>GRAZIA. “<\/span><\/em>Ever since then, I knew creating my own collection was something I wanted to do, and I trusted that my design vision with Sunglass Hut\u2019s expertise was the perfect partnership for my first eyewear collection.”<\/span><\/p>\n

On Monday, March 8, the Chiara Ferragni x Sunglass Hut collection<\/a> launched with two styles: a cat-eye silhouette called The Cool Eye<\/a>, available in four colors, and an elongated rectangular style named The Bold Eye<\/a>, available in three. “Both styles deliver a city-flair with an edgy yet classic look,” says Ferragni, adding that they’re designed to “fit a variety of different face shapes and outfits.” Below, check out the designer’s go-to sunglass styling tips, along with photos of how she wears them.<\/p>\n

“I love to let a cat-eye shape be the star of the outfit,” says Ferragni. “Cat-eyes can be worn for every occasion, but their shape also allows them to be the focus of the look. Depending on the boldness of the frames, I\u2019ll choose to dress them up or down, but I love to pair bolder styles with more minimalistic outfits so the glasses can shine.”<\/p>\n

“Rectangular sunglasses add the perfect retro-style to a look,” explains the fashion influencer. “I like to pair them with vintage or casual outfits for an elevated, retro twist. The styling of the Bold Eye sunnies in my collection depends on my mood, so I love to choose the colors that reflect how I\u2019m feeling at that time.”<\/p>\n
