SNL<\/em> comedian Pete Davidson has addressed his relationship and split with model Kaia Gerber for the first time, blaming his personal struggles on the pair going their separate ways after around four months of dating.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe\u2019s very young, and I\u2019m f\u2013king going through a lot and it was before I went to rehab,\u201d Davidson, 26, told Charlamagne Tha God in an interview posted on YouTube on Monday.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s just like, she should be having fun,\u201d he said of 18-year-old Gerber, who is following in her supermodel mum, Cindy Crawford’s, footsteps. \u201cShe shouldn\u2019t have to worry about some dude that just has issues and s\u2013t. She should be enjoying her work.\u201d He added, \u201cIt just wasn\u2019t the right place or the right time at all.\u201d<\/p>\n

Of Crawford and Gerber’s dad, Rande Gerber, Davidson said, \u201cHer parents were really helpful and stuff, so they\u2019re cool.\u201d<\/p>\n

Davidson went on to say he can be \u201ca lot\u201d in relationships. \u201cI cry a lot. I get into deep conversations. I care about your s\u2013t,\u201d he said. \u201cI like to meet your family. I like to know who you are. And some families are like, \u2018Who the f\u2013k are you?\u2019 So I\u2019m a lot for certain people. It was just how I was raised.\u201d \u201cI love love,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s how I grew up. Just my mum, my sister, I didn\u2019t have a man around the house, so I was just like, \u2018When am I going to find my Princess Charming?\u2019 That\u2019s all I\u2019ve ever wanted.\u201d<\/p>\n

After a whirlwind few years, during which he was engaged to Ariana Grande and linked to actresses Kate Beckinsale and Margaret Qualley, Davidson said he’s not currently dating, \u201cunless I meet the love of my life.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Gerber has been a main fixture at fashion month, leaving Milan to head to Paris on Sunday night for the final leg of the
