In response to stunning claims<\/a> that Meghan Markle reduced some of her palace staff members to tears, a good number of her friends \u2013 including Suits<\/em> co-star Patrick J. Adams, Jameela Jamil, Janina Gavankar and Meghan\u2019s college BFF Lindsay Roth \u2013 have publicly defended her.<\/p>\n

Just days out from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex\u2019s tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey<\/a>, (one where the couple are expected to make shocking claims about their time in the Royal family), The Times Of London<\/a> <\/em>published a damning report where several members of Markle\u2019s staff claim they were bullied by her. Two have said they were driven out of the household while a third says their confidence was undermined.<\/p>\n

Adams, who played Markle’s on-screen lover on hit television show Suits, posted a lengthy, moving character testament to his friend on his Instagram, denouncing her treatment by the Royal Family as “sickening”.<\/p>\n

\u201cMeghan Markle and I spent the better part of a decade working together on Suits<\/em>,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cFrom day one she was an enthusiastic, kind, cooperative, giving, joyful and supporting member of our television family. She remained that person and colleague as fame, prestige and power accrued.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe has always been a powerful woman with a deep sense of morality and a fierce work ethic and has never been afraid to speak up, be heard and defend herself and those she holds dear.<\/p>\n

\u201cLike the rest of the world, I have watched her navigate the last few years in astonishment. She fell in love, moved to a new country, became a household name across the entire globe and began the difficult work of trying to find her place in a family dynamic that can at best be described as complicated and at worst, seemingly archaic and toxic.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt sickened me to read the endless racist, slanderous, clickbaiting vitriol spewed in her direction from all manner of media across the UK and the world but I also knew that Meghan was stronger than people realised or understood and they would regret underestimating her.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd then they welcomed Archie. And on any sort of decent planet that would be a time to stop sharpening the knives and let these two people enjoy the magical early months and years of starting a family. But we don\u2019t live on that planet and instead the hunt continued.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s OBSCENE that the royal family, whose newest member is currently GROWING INSIDE OF HER, is promoting and amplifying accusations of \u2018bullying\u2019 against a woman who herself was basically forced to flee the UK in order to protect her family and her own mental health.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn my opinion, this newest chapter and its timing is just another stunning example of the shamelessness of an institution that has outlived its relevance, is way overdrawn on credibility and apparently bankrupt of decency.<\/p>\n

\u201cFind someone else to admonish, berate and torment. My friend Meghan is way out of your league.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fellow actress and friend to Markle Gavankar posted to her Twitter, \u201cI have known Meghan for 17 years. Here\u2019s what she is: kind, strong, open. Here\u2019s what she\u2019s not: \u201ca bully\u201d. ANY of us who know her, feel the same thing from her broken silence: Relief. The truth shall set you free.\u201d<\/p>\n
