When Keanu Reeves stepped onto the red carpet holding the hand of an unidentified woman, the world went mad. She turned out to be artist Alexandra Grant, who has not only worked with the actor for years, but has been dating him for years too.<\/p>\n

Of course, though we love a good celebrity romance, this time it was different. This is the man we’ve seen go through heartbreak and pain publicly and, in over two decades, since the death of his partner Jennifer Syme in 2001, Reeves had never posed with a woman on the red carpet.<\/p>\n

Enter Grant, who has finally addressed her relationship for the first time since their November 2019 carpet debut.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think every single person I knew called me in the first week of November, and that\u2019s fascinating,\u201d Grant said in an interview with British Vogue<\/a><\/i>, referring to her and Reeves’s appearance at the art gala. \u201cBut the question I\u2019ve been asking in all of this is: \u2018What is the opportunity for good?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Speaking about her and Reeves’ early friendship, Grant says that they started working together – they run publishing house \u00a0X Artists\u2019 Books – after she gave him a book she’d made as a present in 2011.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe book was made as a surprise, by me, for Keanu, as a private gift,\u201d confirms Grant. \u201cAll our friends sitting in the room got the giggles when I gave it to him \u2013 they said, \u2018Please publish it!\u2019 So that\u2019s how we got into publishing.\u201d<\/p>\n

When the question of marriage arises, Grant expertly dodges the question, responding with, \u00a0\u201cOver a glass of wine\u2026 I would love to tell you,\u201d before adding: \u201cLove at every level is deeply important to my identity. How\u2019s that for dodging the question? I do not believe that isolation is the way.
