Ah, yes. The ol’ working-from-home conundrum. Do I stay in my PJs ALL day and never-ever leave my bed (except for water and toilet which even seems hard) so much so I create a sinkhole in my mattress? Do I put on my spiffiest suit and set up a home desk complete with one fragrance, a dog-eared notepad, Mentos, deodorant and drinking bird in a bid to produce Pulitzer Prize-worthy work? OR am I that<\/em> person and doll myself from the torso up and continue to tout my much-beloved but frankly questionable underwear below? As reported earlier in the week, the working-from-home wardrobe is treacherous territory to navigate and in turn reveals a lot about both your style personality and your own personality<\/a>. But sitting somewhere in the middle of tatty flannels and The Row Pre Fall 2020 is a robe.<\/p>\n

Yes, what you might think a humble, if not banal, bed garment bound to hospital stays and visits from nana has in fact had a stylish revamp over the last few years and now exists as a fashion force unto itself. Pre-self-isolation, people were even wearing them out-and-about – mostly thanks to local jewelry-turned-apparel-maker Lucy Folk making them acceptable beyond the boudoir in cucumber-cool terry toweling and the like.<\/p>\n

But back home, where most of us are exiled indefinitely as we grapple with this insidious pandemic, robes take on new life yet again. From fluffy bathrobes to fabulous fashion robes, they are comfy and cozy enough to wear to work (home) all day long, for those hot-desking (aka living with others) they are smart enough to rock around communal spaces in, and they can even look decent enough to wear in a FaceTime meeting (some of them).<\/p>\n
