Though it has all the makings of a runaway Netflix success, it seems that even Netflix itself wasn’t prepared for the success of Shonda Rhimes’ period drama, Bridgerton<\/a>. <\/em>Twenty-eight days after its release, the streaming giant revealed that 82 million users around the world had already watched the series, making it the number one show in 83 countries, including the U.S., UK, India, France and Brazil – and the most popular Netflix release in history.<\/p>\n

Naturally, with numbers like that, there was no need to beat around the bush: Bridgerton<\/em> was confirmed for a second season on January 21, less than a month after the release of its first installment. Below, everything we know so far about what we can expect from the Bridgerton<\/em> universe next…<\/p>\n

THERE WILL LIKELY BE EIGHT SEASONS IN TOTAL<\/h3>\n

Though Netflix has only confirmed season two thus far, Bridgerton<\/em> season one is based on the first of eight best-selling books by Julia Quinn. So if the show continues to be as popular in season two, there’s no reason the streaming giant wouldn’t tell all eight books on screen. Before the announcement of season two, creator and showrunner Chris Van Dusen said<\/a>, “We know there are eight Bridgerton siblings [and] there are eight\u00a0Bridgerton\u00a0<\/em>books. So in success, I would love to be able to explore love stories and romances for all the Bridgerton brothers and sisters, of course.”<\/p>\n
