<\/p>\nOn March 25, Coty – one of the biggest beauty conglomerates in the world with brands including Rimmel Covergirl, Max Factor, Gucci and Burberry in its stable – announced it had started producing hydro-alcoholic gel, or hand sanitizer, in response to the current COVID-19 crisis. These products are to be donated free of charge to medical and emergency service workers, as well as Coty employees and pharmacy staff.<\/p>\n
According to Coty CEO Pierre Laubies, the brand is “proud to support the brave professionals fighting on the frontlines against COVID-19 by providing hand sanitizer where it is needed.”<\/p>\n

The announcement comes as a small piece of good news in an otherwise extremely stressful, anxious time where the updates are more or less hourly, rather than daily. It follows other fashion and beauty houses like Ralph Lauren<\/a>, Prada<\/a>, LVMH, Moncler and Zara, who have halted regular production to instead churn out necessary items like PPE and sanitizer to help manage global shortages.<\/p>\n It is often said that during crisis, the best of humanity shines… such is the case here.
