Like a muscle just begging to be flexed, we stare at our most audacious <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/articles\/lily-collins-ode-to-glam-rock\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">eyeshadow palettes<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/articles\/bold-lipstick\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">lipstick shades<\/a> with longing, pining after the days when we could apply <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/articles\/dua-lipa-were-good-makeup\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">makeup<\/a> with both enthusiasm and purpose \u2013 rather than the reluctant neutral base we&#8217;re currently putting on to appease our own reflections on <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/articles\/biggest-beauty-moments-2020\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Zoom<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Enter <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/articles\/jason-wu-fall-2021-a-grocery-store-romance\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York Fashion Week<\/a> in all its splendor, serving us a much-needed dose of cosmetic drama. The perfect entr\u00e9e? RVNG&#8217;s bold glamour, as directed by Jackie Gideon, which paired frothy sartorial confections with a serve of negative-space winged eyeliner and brilliant pouts on the makeup menu. It&#8217;s exactly what we&#8217;ve been craving throughout those long periods in lockdown: an unapologetic optimism via the much-missed medium of cosmetics.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_186027\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-186027\" style=\"width: 743px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-186027\" src=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/SS3_2337.jpg\" alt=\"rvng beauty nyfw 2021\" width=\"743\" height=\"929\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-186027\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Credit: RVNG<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Striking 60s-style eyeliner and shadow span the width of models&#8217; eyes and then some, stretching all the way out to just beneath the tip of the brow.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span class=\"quotation-style\">But the hues applied to each individual eye ran the gamut of inky 80s shades, from azure to soft indigo.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Each color was kept contained inside the confines of the dual winged liner, with one line arching through the crease and the other along the lashline before meeting and flicking out at the edge of the eye.<\/p>\n<p>The lips were amped up also, with varying shades of magenta, scarlet and neon pink breaking the age-old axiom that dictates eyes and lips should never compete for attention on a single complexion.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span class=\"quotation-style\">Each pout was given an extra touch of luster, be it a glossy finish or even a smattering of glitter on a few feature kissers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Hair was styled super-straight but soft and glossy, as if the wearer had just left the salon \u2013 a mere act for many that will no doubt be cherished post-pandemic.
